                        KUST Int'l Students: Perceiving China - The Belt and Road Initiative’s Entry into Wuhua District

                        On the afternoon of December 14th, KUST’s School of International Education organized the international students to participate in the activity of “Perceiving China - the Belt and Road Initiative’s Entry into Wuhua District” sponsored by Yunnan Growing AI Industry Park Co., Ltd. and to experience the history of Kunming and the art of paper cutting in the century-old residence of "Ma Family’s Courtyard".

                         

                         

                        This activity was divided into two parts: “Talking about ancient and modern times” which is an activity of telling the story of old Kunming and “experiencing the intangible cultural heritage----the art of Kunming paper cutting and silhouette”. After the teacher's humorous lecture and the exquisite performance of the paper-cutting teacher, the international students from different countries learned about the long history and colorful folk customs of Kunming, which further deepened their connection and exchange with Kunming.

                         

                         

                        In this activity, the international students deeply felt the humanistic care of China, eliminated the cross-cultural communication conflicts caused by cultural differences faster and better and enhanced their sense of identity and belonging to the Chinese culture and the local culture of Kunming. Kunming, as the capital city of Yunnan Province, is striving to establish friendly and cooperative relations with other countries and build a pivot point for the “Belt and Road” initiative while it accelerates its construction of a regional international central city. As a bridge of communication, the international students in China shoulder an important mission.
